Early Life of SM Krishna
Somanahalli Mallaiah Krishna was born in Somanahalli village of Mandya district, Karnataka. He was Born on 1st May 1932. He finished his schooling in Ramkrishna Vidyashala, Mysore. He completed his bachelor's in arts from Maharaja’s College Mysore, and then completed his law degree from Government Law College, Bengaluru. After that Krishna went to the US to complete his master's degree in law from SMU.EDU

Personal Life of SM Krishna
Krishna was married to Prema. They had two daughters. His daughter Malavika Krishna is currently working as CEO of Cafecoffeeday Krishna had a younger brother who had died in 2019, he was also in politics. At the down of his political life, he released his biography “Smritivahini” in the presence of many dignitaries. He penned many interesting incidents including Veerappan Kidnapping of Rajkumar during his tenure as the chief minister. He also quoted that former prime minister of India and national president of Janta Dal H.D. Devegowda had strong plans of joining Indian National Congress twice during the period of National emergency. Krishan Died from a long illness at his residence in Bengaluru, on 10 December 2024, at the age of 92. It was announced that he would be cremated with full state of honors in his hometown Mandya, on December 11.

As a Chief Minister of Karnataka he introduced IT and biotechnology policies in Karnataka and made Bengaluru an IT Hub. That’s why he is also known as the father of Moder Bengaluru. As a CM he focused on infrastructure development, including roads, flyovers, and public transportation. He promoted Education and reforms in governance though technology. As an External affairs minister he played a key role in improving India’s relations with the United States and China. He promoted India’s stance inn international forums like United Nations. He also represented India in major summits like BRICS and G20. As a governor of Maharashtra, he advocated for agricultural reforms and industrial development in the state. As a Deputy CM he focused on rural development and urban governance. He helped in established Bengaluru as India’s “Silicon Valley”.
